SEO or SMO… Huh?

Everybody knows what SEO stands for. ( or at least internet marketers know what is SEO )

SMO?

Social Media Optimization - SMO

This ties in very closely to Web2.0 phenomenon that is happening all over the internet. But what is the difference between SEO and SMO? SEO is basically get search engines to come to your site, fall in love with your site and return your web pages in their natural search engine results in order to get traffic.

Domains In Trouble - The Registerfly Saga

I hope that none of you guys have domains registered with Registerfly.

I have most of my domains registered with Registerfly. Not a wise move unfortunately. I have had some issues with their website and their customer service. The worst part is that I had made bulk purchases of some domains before and some of them were not available which means that I still have some money with them! ( those .info domains were real cheap, a steal in fact for $0.60 each )

Here’s what happened ( this is old news ) :

Scary? You bet! Imagine losing your domains especially those important ones which you have taken the trouble to build up!
I am now in the midst of transferring the important domains out.

And here’s a registrar taking advantage of this situation, smart move, Godaddy!

( ps. so if you have any registerfly domains, you should make use of this opportunity to transfer at a cheaper price!)

Another good registrar that I am using is namecheap.com ( so far no issue with them ). Now I am in the midst of transferring some of my websites over… keeping my fingers cross!

How do you transfer your domain? ( I can hear some of you ask… )
Step 1. Decide which registrar you want the domain to be transferred to.

SEO For Your WordPress Blog

Came across this interesting video from youtube about how to make your wordpress blog Google “friendly” :

Makes sense?

2 Tips For Wordpress Blog SEO in the video mentioned :

1. Always put your post in one single category only. If more than one category is assigned, Google might be confused. Set up “themeing” for each section.

2. Always use “More” for each post. This is to prevent duplicate content.

3. Always block posts that appear under other sections using robots.txt file. You want Google to find your post under the main categories only.
