Web Alchemy Aftermath …

I feel immensely superior to the normal folks around me…
After the 2 days of intensive copywriting training by Jo Han Mok, empowered by the copywriter master with a treasure chest of knowledge.
Truly so.

After learning the tricks of the trade by the master himself, I am like “wow”, he knows his stuff and he is real good at it. We had a “live” training session which each one of us do a salesletter for our own product. As he went through each of our salesletter, he was really fast in his thinking and he can transform a seemingly boring lifeless sentence (most often grammatically incorrect) into a sizzling tantalising one that captured your attention immediately.

If you do not know what DMOZ or Open Directory Project is :

This is like the “holy grail” of directories. Getting listed here is a BIG deal as most of the major search engines trust the websites listed here. Google search engine is known for giving more weight to websites that are listed here. This is number one must-submit directories. They have human editors that go through the sites submitted and only approved those good legitimate sites. And hence it is notorious that it takes weeks or months to get your site added.

Blogging is still wonderful

In the world of internet marketing, hypes come and go. As with blogging, between 2005 and 2006, it was used extensively or used to death by internet marketers to drive traffic. Many jumped into the wagon and some tried to cheat the system by using automated systems that pulled information irregardless of whether is it good data from the internet. All was still good and rosy, until the search engines got smarter.

Some of you might worry that blogging is going to die soon with so many people exploiting it. However, I do not think so. Yes, there are millions or even gazillions of blogs out there, but how many have real content?
