SAM : Simple Article Marketing Course For New Marketers : Part 1

If you are just starting out in the world of internet marketing, article marketing might be the most simple way to get started without you having to invest in any money. article marketing or “bum marketing” as popularized by Travis Sago a while ago is one of the most true blue marketing methods that you can use online that really does work. The reason why Travis calls article marketing as bum marketing is probably because of the fact that it is so simple and idiot-proof that any “bum” on the street would probably know how to do it.

In a nutshell, it means to write a good article. Embed your affiliate links in the article ( if allowed ) or your website link in the article or the resource box and submit to article directories and sit back to wait for your sales or traffic to roll in. In essence, it is really this simple. This is probably the cheapest way one can go in order to get on the first page of Google. ( there are many other ways and those probably costs way more than what a beginner can afford ) Heck, you can even do bum marketing and make some money online without a website or rather spending a dime on setting up and maintaining your website.

However, in order to be successful in article marketing, there is much preparation work in terms of research and understanding of the your market.

In this first part of the article marketing course, we are going to talk about finding your niche market. In order to profit from article marketing, you need to find a untapped market :

1. Find a hungry niche. To find such a market, you can look to Ebay Pulse, Yahoo Answer and forums for clues and ideas. You can also go to Amazon magazine section to take a look. There wouldn’t be a magazine published if there weren’t a profitable niche market there!

2. Research what they’re want, what they are hungry for – find out what really makes them tick.

3. Find an affiliate product from clickbank, Commission Junction, Linkshare or other affiliate programs that is a perfect match (or you could create one yourself but it’s more work and thus more risky ) If you cannot find any affiliate products in the traditional marketplace, you can type into Google Search “XXX affiliate” to search and locate if there is any.

Once you have identified your niche you want to be in, it’s time to start planning for the articles you are going to write… stay tuned!
