Tagged! You’ve Been Spammed!

My blog has just been spammed… there was 500 over spam comments today.

Was I annoyed? At first, I felt irritated but later after a while, I was thinking these spammers are not really that smart. I mean don’t they realize that what they are doing are a total waste of time? Do they think that a blog that is lovingly built from scratch will allow their “meaningless” comments, spammy comments like “ekep wbai…” to stick?

Come  on… be more inventive… put in some meaning to your spam! At least put something readable that says “Oooo.. I love your blog, it has helped me alot. Keep up the good work! INSERT YOUR URL”… At least there will be a slight chance that I might let that comment stick.

Right now I am using Askimet (comes default with the latest Wordpress version) to handle the spam comments which it does pretty well. However, it requires you to provide a Wordpress.com API key. This is just a unique code given to you by Wordpress.com when you sign up for a blog at their official blogging site ( much like blogger.com ).

In a way being spammed is a good thing too… it means that your blog is probably good. :)

PS. I have been busy with very interesting internet marketing stuff which I hope to share soon!
