Google Adsense Migration Has Started…

Google has been planning this migration for all Adsense users to be upgraded into Google Account.

When I logged in today to my Adsense Account, I was greeted with a page that asks you to upgrade to a Google Account. I followed the instructions gingerly. I have been using the same email account for both my Adsense and Adword accounts and thus I was thinking this should be a breeze. Before long I was stumped… Why? Apparently Google does not allow the same email to be used for both Adwords and Adsense. In their blog, they apologized that currently the system does not allow the same email to be used.

A slight panic on my part, wondering how should I go about changing the account to a new one without losing all the hard earned money in my current account. Soon I was clicking off to the help pages on how to create a Google Account. But there was no mentioned on how to create a new Google Account for the existing Adsense account. And the link that they provide to the creating of new Google Account seems to be for totally new Adsense account…

Not wishing to risk my Adsense account, I turned to Adwords account instead and switched it to another email before coming back to Adsense.

Google should have more explanation on the page itself on how to go about changing to a new Google account for the existing Adsense accounts.

PS. Don’t panic if you do not see the page yet… Google probably have thousands of accounts to convert and have not reach your account yet.
