To start SEO, you’ll definitely need tools to help you and many of these advanced SEO tools are really expensive. However, there are free tools that may be less advanced but more than sufficient to help any noice and advanced SEO marketer.
Here is a list of free and proven SEO tools that you can use :
1) Firefox browser! Best SEO tool as you can install plugins like SEO for Firefox. Very useful and instant snapshot of everything about the competitors! You can check out the PR, the backlinks, the number of gov or edu links, age of domain etc all at one place!
2) www.xml-sitemaps.com . Sitemaps are extremely important for websites because they help search engines crawl and index them. Google totally adores them! And this is a free xml sitemap generator!
3) www.seochat.com/seo-tools/keyword-density . This keyword density tool is useful for helping webmasters/SEO’s achieve their optimum keyword density for a set of key terms/keywords. This tool will analyze your chosen URL and return a table of keyword density values for 1, 2, or 3 word key terms.
*Apparently it is not working well now due to some changes at Google.
4) www.marketleap.com/verify/default.htm . This verification tool performs checks to see if your site is in the top three pages of a search engine result for a specific keyword. You enter your URL/Keyword and it displays top 30 for 11 Search Engines. Pretty handy tool.
It’s really quite amazing that all the above tools are totally free! Gotta love the people behind all these wonderful SEO tools!
