Top Twitter Update Tools

Incredibly there are plenty of interesting applications or twitter tools that you can use to manage your twitter update and twitter stuff.

Mind boggling. And I basically narrowed it down to 3 top twitter update tools that is easy to use and have functions that are totally helpful for any marketer or web 2.0 user.

3. TwitterFox
I started with this tool when I first got on to twitter. It was a natural choice for me as I use Firefox browser and I am on the internet alot. It is frills-free and handy little tool to have right at your right bottom corner. Any time I have something I wanted to share, I just need to click on the button right at my Firefox browser. If you are a new twitterer, then this tool works very nicely for you. ( You can even set up for multiple twitter accounts - I tried but it does not seem to be working for me though )

2. Tweetdeck
Then when my following got larger and larger, I discovered Tweetdeck. It does way way more than TwitterFox did… The recent update also added the function of being able to send updates to Facebook as well. This is so cool! I was neglecting Facebook due to my time spent on Twitter and this is an excellent way to keep updates going to both Twitter and Facebook. Some functions which I love also include :

# Use columns to create your personal dashboard
# Create Groups to easily follow friends, colleagues or other interest groups
# Update Facebook and follow your Facebook friends
# Follow topics in real-time with saved searches
# View @replies and direct messages and manage your conversations

Tweetdeck also added a function that you can shorten your url within the applications. It also has a function to translate your tweet! Quite helpful when you want to reach out to even more people…

So far, I am having a blast using Tweetdeck. ( did I mention that it’s free?… )

1. Hootsuite
I just signed up with this application and it looks pretty promising. But ok, I still love Tweetdeck for the many many cool functions but it does not have what Hootsuite can do. Hootsuite allows you to preload your messages! You can set up your tweets way in advance by setting the exact time and date that the tweet should go out. ( mini autoresponder for Twitter? ) So you can for example, set a message to say “Happy Mother’s day” on mother’s day etc

Plus, this is the cool part : you can send twitter updates ( scheduled or not ) for more than one twitter account!
