17 Must Have Tools For Successful Internet Marketers – Part 3

There are really many great tools out there! It took some weeding before I ended up with the final ten…here’s the next 4…

8. RSS Reader

Since the inception of RSS, it has made keeping up with the world and life much much more easier for me! Everyone have their favorite blogs to read. I have many and I used to go to each of them manually to read… which is utterly time wasting. Then came RSS which changed the way we read blogs.

I started off with some RSS readers which are ok but it does not make it easy for me to read the blogs. However since I found this tool… I never looked back – Google Reader!

If you have a gmail account, then you can automatically get access to Google Reader. I am usually logined to my gmail account and hence I have Google Reader on all the time. When I see a blog which I like, I add the RSS to my Google Reader. When you open your Google Reader, you have all your RSS subcriptions on the left side of the panel. It also shows you if there are new posts under each of the blogs.

It is really convenient for me and it is extremely user friendly. Plus it costs $0! What more could I ask for?

And remember, add in your own blog’s feed! This will get those Google Spiders to your blog!

9. Wifi Phone

I have for the longest time trying not to buy phone unless my current phone die on me. However, signs are everywhere that I need a wifi phone! And boy, am I glad I got one. Now I save a lot time on the road and catch up on alot of news from the real world. And all for free! Using the free wifi easily available everywhere, having a wifi phone is definitely more convenient rather than lugging my heavy laptop around. Plus I can use my time productively even when queuing up or while waiting for someone.

Phones that are on my list include : iPhone, Nokia E66 or E71 and Blackberry Phones.

What did I end up with ? I really wanted the iPhone but several factors including some complaints from many users like unable to forward SMS had me rethink twice. Then a recent promotion with E66 by my provider sealed my fate with E66. So far so good. The only complaint? Battery life sucks… Ohh maybe I am using too much of the wifi… :) But I am still hankering after the second choice – iTouch!

10. Screen Capturing And Editing Tool

Yes this is probably one of the most used tool for me recently. I started to do fun stuff using the screen captures and sharing on my blogs. Previously I recommend Photoshop and several free graphic editor tools which are great to edit any pictures you take. However for productivity’s sake, I love those instant screen capturing and editing tool that allows me to quickly capture a screen shot of the browser and then make some comments. This is a great tool to create good tutorials or simply sharing websites with others!

I used to use this tool : SnagIt from Techsmith. It is a nifty tool that captures your screen shots perfectly, with a few choices like the seen area or simply the entire web page. There was one time when the good people at Techsmith offered this tool ( an older version ) for free! However, they stop that and when I changed my PC, I had to look elsewhere. You can try it for 30days free here : www.techsmith.com/download/snagittrial.asp

Now, I simply use this free tool – it is a Firefox add on called FireShot. Once you have installed on your browser, its very easy to take a snapshot of your browser. The only bad thing of this is that you can only take browser view and not your desktop. But if you need to take your desktop view, you can use the “Print Screen” button on your keyboard.

11. Keyword Tools

This is an important part of any internet marketers arsenal. The are many great tools out there to help you do your keyword research. But everyone has their favorites. Personally I only used these few tools (mostly free):

Google Adwords Keyword Tool
This is probably everyone’s favorite after the sad demise of the old Overture tool ( is it still alive? ) It is really useful for a quick research purposes to see whats the search and competitiveness of the keyword.

PPC Web Spy
This tool is something new that I just trying out. It makes it so easy to see what keywords your competitors are bidding on! It is a sneaky spying tool that works very well with my favorite browser, Firefox! Look at the image below of my Firefox. Just click on the green buttons on the ads and you can get the keywords that the advertiser is using! It’s very convenient and you can download the list of the keywords to be saved and used. Plus it has a secret weapon built in that can help you make even more money… talk about sneakiness… You can download a free copy here to test it out. Like I say, free is good.
