IMS 2006 - Part 2

Oops. I have not been posting to the blog as my brain is still recovering from the “knowledge” influx from the seminar.

Second day of IMS had all the guest speakers back in the seminar. They are down to earth people like you and me and holds no air. Kelvin Hui and Ewen Chia was back even though they have presented the day before.

In the second day, we had speakers Joel Comm, Peter Drew and Jo Han Mok.

Joel Comm is widely known as the guru of Adsense and he was “live” with us not in person but over live conference. He shared with us his immense knowledge on Adsense, like placement etc but he made it fun for all the audience. He even got all of us to do the “fedex” wave in the auditorium. Haha!

Next up was Peter Drew. Never knew about him except that I heard of his name. He is also in Adsense publishing but his model is abit different from Joel’s. However, I am sure his Adsense publishing model probably works very well but I think the caveat will be to know how to manage such VRE ( virtual real estate as coined by John Reese ). VRE essentially means your real estate online.

Jo Han Mok is one of the most talented and well known copywriters on the Internet Marketing arena. His recent course that he offered in his seminar in Australia cost more than $9k ( woo! ). Why? He showed us why. He really went all out and explained one of his salesletter for one of his client by going to details what he did in each section. He shared with us his thinking process as he delved into the minds of the reader and tried to get the reader to take action. I am surprised at the amount of analysis and thought that goes into the process of crafting a great salesletter. But at the same time, I find it fascinating as I am always one that love to write and play with words.

The entire event really “fried” my brain and after the event, I was tired from the information loading. I can imagine for newbies who had not touched internet marketing before, would be even more overloaded!!
